My husband and I moved from the UK to Qatar in March 2013 and in November 2014, I became a mum to my amazing son, Joseph. Being a mum was extremely rewarding, however, in my case, there was a price to pay and that was sleep deprivation.
For the first two and a half years of my son’s life none of us had a good night’s sleep. In March 2017 we made the decision to sleep coach Joseph. Due to the lack of sleep I was often very emotional, and sometimes irrational. Joseph was a happy little boy and at the time it seemed unaffected by his nightly sleep disturbances. I could not think straight, I could not see straight, and it got to the point where I just could not take it anymore.
I will openly admit that I had some very dark moments whilst I was sleep deprived. In addition, when Joseph was 11 months old, I was diagnosed with PTSD as a result of an extremely unpleasant birth experience.
I felt at my wits’ end.
In March 2017 we made the decision to sleep train Joseph. I searched online for a sleep consultant in Abu Dhabi, where we lived at the time, but I had no results. We ended up hiring a wonderful lady that helped us, from Dubai.
Joseph was sleeping well within a matter of days of starting the sleep training and we couldn't believe the change this made to our lives. I realised that I wanted to bring the gift of sleep to everyone I could! I wanted to create a change and help other struggling parents. Especially those in Abu Dhabi who did not have access to sleep consultants in their city.
I went to Florida in April 2017 and completed my training to become a Sleep Sense™ Consultant, under the watchful eye of the creator of the program, Dana Obleman. You can learn more about the Sleep Sense™ method here.
Since then, I have helped over 550 families to achieve their goals - namely consistently good nights’ sleep! I specialise in working with people of all ages, from newborn to adult, both online globally, and in person throughout Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Bringing this gift to people around the world is my calling and the opportunity to help others brings me pure joy. I’ve well and truly ‘been there’. First as a sleep deprived parent and, later, as a client of the adult sleep course, that I now teach.
Putting my personal experience to great use, as well as developing my professional expertise having worked with so many families, I can empower parents to successfully and gently sleep train their little ones.
My baby and child sleep training has now evolved to cover baby, toddler, pre-schooler, school age children, adolescent/teenager and adult sleep.
I am a South-African mum who has lived in Abu Dhabi with my family since the end of 2011.
When my daughter, Christine, was born at the end of 2017, she would not go to sleep without being held, rocked or fed! However amazing and rewarding this was, I had to return to work four months after her birth and needless to say I was beyond exhausted. I was up every two hours at night and as Christine was a breastfed baby, I was not only used as a pacifier, but also a sleeping aid.
A friend recommended using a sleep consultant, which we finally did when Christine was about 7 months old. Our lives (and sleep!) completely changed within 5 nights and I repeatedly asked myself why we had not contacted a consultant sooner. Our consultant provided us with a suggested schedule and routine and I will do the same for you.
Christine has been consistently sleeping through the night since she was 7 months old and happily drifts off to sleep by herself.
I was delighted to then have the opportunity to train as a Sleep Consultant myself, and want to pass on my expertise and knowledge to other families that may be struggling with their little one's nighttime or napping habits.
I’d be very happy to assist you and your family to achieve the same results that I did – at the end of the day, I am one of the biggest sleep advocates out there!
I'm a mother of 2 amazing boys, who are growing up to be such unique, lovable and inspiring human beings. I'm an Indian expat living in Dubai.
My journey to motherhood began in 2008 with the birth of my 1st son who redefined the meaning of unconditional love for me. The second came along in 2011 and my joy knew no bounds. His sleep, however, was disastrous, waking up every hour to nurse night after night. However rewarding motherhood was, sleep deprivation took a toll on me. Juggling with 2 kids and not managing to get a decent night's sleep, I was rushed to the Emergency room one night from exhaustion. This was when my younger son was 9 months old.
I must admit that I felt very anxious, emotional, exhausted and even irrational at many times up until the night of the ER visit, but I didn't act on my body's cues that it needed help! I assumed sleep deprivation was a normal price to pay for having kids.
I also realised that if the lack of undisturbed sleep could be so detrimental to me, it would definitely be detrimental to my son's health too! That was when I knew I had to reach out for help. Sleep is the most essential element for a healthy body and mind and I couldn't wait to help my son sleep through the night. As soon as I had made the commitment to sleep train, I hired a Sleep Sense certified coach who helped me tremendously and we restored the much needed balance to our lives as a family
That was the magical moment when I realised, this was the gift I would like to give every struggling parent who needs the support to revive the balance in their family's life. I am now a Sleep Sense Certified Consultant and have never looked back. I love working with families who are facing issues with their children's sleep and get them feeling 'revived' from 'sleep deprived'. What I do as my job brings me pure joy and emotional fulfilment as I know the feeling of distress that comes with being in such a situation. It's my passion to help families sleep better.
I'm a mother of a gorgeous boy, and a Certified Sleep Sense™ Consultant. Born and raised in my beautiful home country Lebanon and been living in Dubai - my second home - for the past 7 years. How time flies!
I have a passion for helping people – which led me to my career as a Special Needs consultant. I truly believe that working with kids in general is a beautiful thing, and just being part of their world is so FUN! And for the past 10+ years I have been working with special needs kids and their families in different schools in both Lebanon and Dubai - it's such a blessing.
Being a new mum who knew too little about sleep, the only choice I had back then was to just take it day by day, night by night, and hoping that things will get better. I was kind of expecting that the first few weeks and months to be the hardest as the baby is still adjusting and the 4th trimester is always the most challenging.
But weeks turned into months of sleepless nights and by the ninth month both my husband and I reached rock bottom. This is when we stumbled upon the Sleep Sense™ program. It was life changing! I remember the first time my son slept 5 hours in one stretch. I cried and screamed so much that I almost woke him up again!
I was you. I experienced sleep deprivation to the extent that I was not enjoying my son. Being sleep deprived is not normal and I truly believe that we should not normalise associating being a parent with being sleep deprived.
Soon after our success, I decided to become a Certified Sleep Sense™ Consultant myself. Being able to support parents/caregivers through this journey is tough, but I find it so very rewarding! I will guide you through a personalised sleep plan and we will make sure to celebrate the happy moments together. You will see that the transformation your child has once they're rested is absolutely incredible!
Helping teach your little one healthy sleep habits is one of the best gifts you can give them and yourself.
